Consider the fellow animals we share this earthly playground with. We observe that they appear to be fit right up to their death - not so with us. We can spend years being so un-fit that life becomes a major struggle. If you are unsure as to what I mean, just observe your fellow humans at the Motorway Services or Truck-Stop, at the Supermarket or in the Town Square. I am not referring to their physical body shape - being thin is not a sign of fitness! There are many fit people classified by the establishment as 'overweight'. Body shape and size has little to do with how fit we are. When doing simple things seems to be a major task. When we huff and puff and strain in everyday situations - we can safely assume that we need to consider some form of structured exercise to help build up our Fitness.
The current guidelines are 30 minutes of moderate exercise 5 times each week.
Not a great deal of time to dedicate to ourselves is it? Hey! We probably dedicate more time than that to cleaning the car! And YES (before you say it) cleaning the car IS exercise - but not structured in the best way to fitness train the body. If we fail to structure the way we clean the car we would miss the odd door panel or window - it's just the same with our body. There is no point in having bulging biceps if our stomach muscles are too weak to support us. We are only as strong as our weakest link!
John tries to make every exercise session fun by incorporating popular dance - from American Line Dancing to Salsa to Hip-Hop and Jazz Funk - as well as Rock-n-Roll & Disco! If nothing else - you usually work your stomach muscles as you laugh at his antics during the class - exercise can (and should) be FUN!
If weight loss is important to you then you should consider a sensible diet.
Therapeutic massage at the Spa or Sauna bathing are all great ways to relax and stay in shape.
