Pilates exercise classes have a reputation for "body shaping" and help ensure that all of our lumps and bumps are toned - and in the right places.
Some liken Pilates to Yoga but it is different. Joseph H. Pilates (the originator of the technique) developed it in the 1920's and founded the Pilates Studio in New York.
John (your teacher) was trained by Michael King, a renowned Pilates Guru, dancer and choreographer of many hit musical shows touring the UK theatres. Michael himself trained & worked with Alan Herdman (Alan is considered by many to be the originator of the new awareness of Pilates in the UK where it was originally mainly practiced by dancers).
Pilates is useful for all normal levels of fitness. It is favoured by dance companies, Broadway Shows and many of the Stars, Media Personalities & Royalty. It has a reputation of being a "Healing" exercise, stretch & breathing therapy and is suitable for most people (always ask your Doctor).
John is a Reiki Master and includes metaphysical energy balancing in the class, ensuring that the physical, emotional and spiritual self are helped as a result of attending the Pilates workout.
